Goat Ridge - Squamish

Goat Ridge - Squamish :evergreen_tree::bicycle:

Wanted something close to home since traffic at this time of the year is insane so a 15min drive seemed like a good choice.

We went from Britannia Beach and biked the FSR portion. Some steep sections and towards the end it’s loose and chunky so it was a mix of biking and hike-a-bike. An ebike would easily go all the way (maybe it is time to finally get one :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:).

Once at the trailhead we stashed the bikes and followed the Disneyland trail. This is a Trial Bike trail (up and down) and Mtb trail. We met a group of about 20 Trial bikers at the trailhead, and we actually kept catching up with them on the trail, which was fun. Watched them a bit on the hard sections before the plodding up those same sections on foot. The forest section is a steep grind but was enjoyable.

Once we reached the subalpine the motorbikers were much faster and we were on our own to get up to the ridge and explore.

Beautiful views once on the ridge. Due to the heat today we decided to not go all the way to the end but it was still a great outing.

Met some more trial bikers coming up on our way down, it was quite busy today. We were so happy to have the bikes to zoom back down the FSR, that saved so much time (5.5km each way) and I really would not want to walk that :upside_down_face:

Total of ~19km and 1400m elevationgain
Bike portion: ~11km, ~600m elevation gain

This one looks like a solid amount of elevation gain no matter how you approach it!
